piece of me.
I found the love of shape, line, volume and void while studying sculpture at Concordia University in Montreal. I began to explore the movement and strength of metal while creating traditionally functional art pieces. Industrial design allowed me to further develop the bond between the everyday and elevated objects while adsorbing the Italian aesthetic through studying for my Masters at the Accademia Italiana and interning with leading Florentine designers.
In 2017 I embarked on this journey with the encouragement of Eric Goldberg, a fourth generation jeweler with a reputation for quality and craftsmanship.
Alysia sought to rethink the lifespan of her pieces. Her model shifted from creating new and unique pieces to welcoming her clients collection into her inspiration. Clients would bring their family’s heirlooms to be transformed.
Today Maison Alysia carries a small collection of pieces that she has collected and transformed. Clients bring in their family’s pieces or pieces they’ve collected to re-imagined.
Maison Alysia clarified its position as a maker of modern heirlooms, grounding the brand in restraint, material honesty, and continuity rather than trend-driven design. This refinement allowed the work to be presented with confidence and consistency.
It is very important to me that the collection be hand-crafted by Canadian jewelers only using the finest quality materials such as 18k solid gold and solely ethically sourced stones.
